Mikal Bridges Goes Nuts Late to Win The Big East Tournament for Villanova
Folks, that game was fun. For the third time in a row Providence fell behind at the Big East Tournament only for Kyron Cartwright to go all Randolph Childress and will the Friars back. Not only did we have that going on, but we had Ed Cooley pulling off the greatest fashion look of 2018. Seriously, it’s tough to outdress Jay Wright, but when you coach your ass off quite literally you win:
In all seriousness, this game was Mikal Bridges being a freak. He continued to hit big shot after big shot late in the game and then came up with a big time block at the end of overtime to seal it. He actually struggled during conference play but have been playing lights out over the last couple of weeks. There’s a reason he’s a lottery pick, folks.
That Big East Tournament was awesome. We had so many good games. We had guys like Kyron Cartwright be a star night in and night out. We had the best team in the conference win the thing. It’s hard to argue with that. Oh, throw in Gus Johnson going nuts on air and it was perfect. Villanova locked itself into a 1 seed in Boston and Providence should be in the 8/9 game, quite a jump from where they were on Wednesday.
While this was happening, Buffalo also held off Toledo without Tre’Shaun Fletcher to win the MAC. Buffalo is a team that can pull off an upset in the first round as they play uptempo and have guys like Wes Clark and CJ Massinburg that can go get points.
